Censorship

It is ok to use censorship in schools to keep students from reading things they aren’t ready to read about. Reading books that talk about sex and drugs at the age of 12 is not ok. Because you aren’t ready to be expose to such things. That’s where censorship kicks in and helps out. The parents have the ok to approve the books read in school, which is completely natural, because they pay for everything the schools has.

We all grow up in different environments. Therefore we have different perspectives on different things. For example I’ve read books with some intense violence, but I don’t go around hurting the ones around me.

Censorship is a great thing, don’t get me wrong! But I think that there should be a limit to where it should stop or a grade where the use of censorship is banished. It’s understandable that student aren’t always mature enough to read a book that involves drugs, violence, and sex, but there are those who do take things serious and actually want to learn from the book. So why not make a class with students whose parents have agreed to let them read the book. The parent can decide weather the student can or cannot read the book, if we had they’re ok then student could read any type of genre.

"Reading books that talk about sex and drugs at the age of 12 is not OK." SUPPORT! Amen. Think long and hard. Really, do you want your kids to know what sex is before you have the "talk" with them. HECK NO! I want them to hear it from me not from a book or from kids in school. Drugs? Really?! I don't think a kid at that age would really know what they are. Maybe starting to experience it, but it's giving it to them in a glorifying way and they won't know the side affects!

i disagree i think we should be able to read what we want even if we cant handle it cause the only people that do read freely are the ones that take it seriously in the first place but good post :)
