Poison

“Ideas can be like poisons. At first they hardly even taste bad, but once they get into your blood they start burning like hot lava.” - Iago

So what I get from this quote is that your ideas can become venomous or as in they can do a lot of harm. And at first you don’t really care about it and don’t believe it until it hits your blood as in it is said so many times or maybe just a couple and it finally hits you and you get mad that it has been said over again and it starts to make you boil.

Also when you can barely taste them it doesn’t even bother you and you think wow that was kind of harsh, but oh well. Then once you start to really think about it you start to get all bubbled up about it and you get pissed off to the point where you are going to do something bad like Othello is going to do in the play.

What I seem that Iago was saying by this quote is that his ideas are poisonous and he knows that he can damage people with them and he likes it a lot. And he knows that they probably won’t even taste it or they won’t even notice it but if he keeps going on about it then the poison will hit their blood or it will finally get them mad enough to do something about it.

So I wrote about this one because in this world there is a lot of poisonous ideas that can and probably will potentially hurt someone. I think it ties in with gossiping. If you have an idea that someone is pregnant in your school and you just want to hurt them then in school that person would go and tell every one his poisonous idea and once one or a couple people tell that person she may not be that upset but once the whole school knows she is probably going to be really hurt about this rumor.
