Why should someone be expelled from school? In my opinion, I think that violence and extreme violence is the number one reason to expel, especially if they keep doing bad things and making more violence, even if they get in trouble and they still do it. I think that violence is a big problem in our schools. We need to give them hooligans who are looking for trouble, some consequences because the best thing to do in a situation that is affecting many people, and its not stopping, is get them out of the school so we don’t have to deal with them.
Of course there are a lot of things to get in trouble and expelled for. I think the next best reason to expel someone is for carrying and/or selling drugs or weapons. Even suspicion of people having or selling drugs, alcohol or weapons is a good reason to talk and discuss it. I think repeat offenders should start getting the right punishments so they won’t think that they will “not get in a lot of trouble” because they already did it and know the consequences. Like with Holden, he was expelled from around four schools just because his grades are bad. I think this is not a good reason at all for kicking someone out of a school.
I think that one of the most reasons kids get expelled is for behavior problems and even though they get in trouble, they still are acting up and being defiant. I don’t know how you could expel someone because of their grades when there are people who are repeat offenders and sell drugs or fight. I think that if they expelled more people for good reasons, I think there would be less of the drugs, violence, and people who keep acting up.

I agree with you liberal opinion on expelling students. I also agree that bad grades should not result in being expelled. I also think that if the student is endangering other people beside themselves they should receive a punishment. I like the idea of harsher consequences for repeat offenders. Behavior problems should be the only determining factor for a student to be removed from the school. Good paper, just work on spelling and grammar.
Cory,
I would have to agree with you. In some instances it is perfectly okay to expel a student from a school. I would want to have a student expelled if they wouldn’t stop fighting or dealing drugs. On some things though I think that getting expelled for mistakes that have only happened once and weren’t even that bad isn’t right. There needs to be a balance when it comes to expelling students.
I strongly agree with Holden being expelled just for his grades is STUPID! People these days need to motivate kids in doing good. Not punish them because they messed up. I personally haven't been in school to read this book through to where we're at, but the only way he should have been expelled is if he just sits on his butt doing nothing, but cause trouble. Good Job!

One thing I don't understand is why we have to give them hooligans. I agree for some of your reasons to get expelled for. But i think your being a bit hypercritical. I'm not going to say on what, but yea it seems like your being your being facade.
I agree that violence is the biggest one you should get kicked out of school for. I don't understand either how someone could get kicked out of school because there grades are slipping. You did a good job, keep up the good work.
Ha hooligans. I agree though. We should expel for violence because otherwise people won't learn. I think you could work on your grammar a little more.
I agree that there would be less drugs, violence, and people who are making trouble if more kids would get expelled for good reasons. Nice viewpoint. Good work.
You have a point but we're so good at covering things up that no one can catch the main person running the show. It's pretty much the same as the book but maybe one day they'll see that the school system is crashing because the consiquences don't really face us anymore.
