In the beginning there was nothing but darkness and chaos. Out of those two things Baako and her brother Daahir were born. They were also known as the first born and revelation. Together they worked to spread light across the land. Little did they know what lay ahead of them.
Baako and Daahi had a little girl named Maame or nice thoughts. They adored their baby girl and gave her anything she wanted. As she grew to be a toddler she became scared of the dark. Baako and Daahir wanting to please their daughter created the stars out of dust particles dipped in the light on the far side of the land. This pleased Maame. As Maame grew older she became more independent. Baako and Daahir knew this would happen they just didn't know that it was so soon for Maame was only eigfht. Years old. Seeing Maame be less dependeant on her parents made them sad. They solved the problem by having a son named Nakisisa or the child of the shadows. They were all happy at first except for Maame. Not only was she no longer the only child but she had a gift, a gift for her father, the gift of prophecy. When she was six, she had a prophecy that her brother would be born three years later and he would be the one to end them all. She had to kill him before he turned eighteen. She had never killed anyone... So would this plan work? Nakisisa always stayed by his parents, he was a good boy. He always stayed out of trouble. Where as Maame always caused trouble. Nakisisa was their parents favorite child. When Nakisisa's 12th birthday arrived, Maame's parents treated her as an outcast. They all gathered around Nakisisa as he opened his presents. As he came across a circular present, his parents told him he would have to take care of it. He would have to put some sort of creation on it to worship the Gods. They told him that it was to be called Kaafi. Maame was so outraged, she jumped up and attacked her brother. She hated her parents and wished they would burn in the pit of hell.
This fight between the sibilings never ended. Nakisisa stayed on his planet created plants, animals, and fresh crops. The only time he ever came off Kaafi was for his birthdays. His eighteenth birthday was arriving in two days, and he wanted to please his parents. He still had to create humans to harvest the crops, build buildings, and do the normal human thing. He tried to do this with squirels but they were too unintelligent. He created man and woman to replenish the earth. He taught them everything he knew from growing crops to building houses to creating their own happiness in their own havens. Men and women worshipped the gods for they had taught them many great things. As he was walking home for his birthday he felt sort of off. H decided to go the long way home. Only to find that he had become lost. His parents stayed up for hours but he was never found again.

The Light of God
In the beginning, before time and space, there was darkness and chaos. Out of the darkness a dark being was formed. In the universe there is an opposite of all things. So a being of light was also formed. That was the first time light had entered that part of the universe. The great beings hated each other. They had many epic battles. In their fighting they unknowingly created matter. Light figured out how to use this matter and tricked Dark into a prison, no prison is perfect so Dark was able to leak out. Now Light was all powerful, he barely had to fight Dark. Wherever Light was Dark would flee in fear, and cower in his presence.
Without Dark to battle Light was very bored. He decided to create things with the matter, just like the prison he built. First he created Mrs. Light, so he could have a companion. They started to create together. They made wonderful planets from the matter. They also had beautiful children, they called them Stars. The stars had a lesser light than there parents, but Dark would still flee, and cower away from them. Mr. and Mrs. Light got tired of there tacky names, so they changed it to GOD and GODDESS. They kept on creating from the matter. They accidentally created earth. They went to investigate what they had just created. When their radiance touched the earth, strange things began to happen. So they decided to stay and see what was else the earth might do. They found water on the earth. Things began to live and crawl. GOD was intrigued by this strange planet, but GODDESS thought it was boring, so she left and went lived with her other children.
GOD found that these creatures were made from matter. He started to make thing that resemble them. His first attempt was a failure. The creatures he made were hideous, so he sent a big wave of water to destroy them. He experimented for a long time. He saw a strange looking animal (the chimp) so he decided to create something similar. He named them Humans. GOD was a curious being. He just sat back and watched them live. But they were missing something. He thought about it for a long time, and then he realized that they were stupid and thought less, so he gave them intelligence. He gave them fire. He let them figure out the other essentials of life. GOD started to feel empty inside, in truth he missed GODDESS. But he loved his Humans also. Instead of just leaving them and letting Dark destroy them, he created his son to protect them. He named the son, SUN. He asked SUN to watch over his beloved Humans. SUN agreed wholeheartedly. So GOD left and lived with GODDESS. The Humans are still alive today, waiting for GOD to return.

N8oveenism
Time can be imagined as a circle, having no beginning and no ending, continuing infinitely forever. Everything that is or ever was has subsisted with no beginning or ending. With time comes energy, both positive and negative, flowing within everything that exists. Everything can be separated into two separate categories, Positive or Negative, good or bad. Everything positive flows together, connected, pulsing as one thing, all consisting of the same thing: Positive. Positive is the label given to everything good, while Negative is the label given to everything bad. All energy came together living as intelligence, abstractly creating everything because it is everything. Positive exists as a concentrated form of Positive energy and intelligence, creating everything that is good. Everything that has Positive in it is connected with everything else that has Positive in it, as well as Positive itself. Negative cannot create anything because the act of creating is Positive, an action done out of love and goodness. Because of this Negative tries to flow into Positives creations, becoming part of it and corrupting it, making it become dirty and not pure. Positive created the earth, thinking something and creating it. Having done no work because of the connected intelligence, he created everything is such beautiful detail, with no imperfections, completely perfect and pure. Positive energy was concentrated into pure forms, which created life. Intelligence was given a form, now becoming real and not abstract, solidly existing on the perfect earth.
Positive is everything good, bright, happy, loving, selfless, clean, pure, right and kind. It is the sun, which creates light, warmth and life. It is day, nature, weather and life. Negative is the exact opposite of Positive, darkness, hate, dirty, cold, night, the moon and anything that is bad. Everything created had an opposite, creating universal balance between everything. Negative flowed into Positives creations, corrupting and turning it evil, warping it and changing it so it would be absolutely opposite from its original form, which was good, pure and positive. Negative did this to everything Positive created, corrupting the perfect creations, made out of love. This created opposition and balance in all things.
Positive created a form, pulsing strongly with everything good, made out of unconditional and unimaginable love. This genuine creation is man, the ultimate form of life, having far more intelligence than the other forms. When man was created it was pulsing so brightly with goodness, flowing freely into everything that was good, essentially perfect. Positive had so much love for man that the earth was given to man to live freely on it. Negative took advantage of this generous gift, and tried ludicrously hard to flow into man, corrupting it for the worse. Positive could not allow his most beloved creation to be destroyed, so it gave man the gift of choice. He blessed man with agency, being able to choose to let Negative into itself, or to be enveloped in Positives love. Negative could not control or corrupt man unless they chose to let Negative. Men chose to be dirtied by Negative, and slowly lost its pure essence, becoming less and less connected with Positive. Men could no longer live be fully with Positive, so Positive created life, giving men the opportunity to clean itself of Negative and come completely into Positive. Man, and its opposite, women, go through life, striving to come closer to Positive. No Negative thing can exist in the presence of Positive, so man strives to return to its true form, coming back to live within Positive.

Journal
Holden has a disorder and that disorder is that he’s really judgmental and he labels everyone. He loves to be an ass and point things out to people and about people even if he doesn’t know them. He knows that people are normal but he’ll still find little things that really bug him about a person and give these great big speeches about that person in his head, talking about how much he hates them or how stupid and phonies they are. He is a really good two face and doesn’t realize that he is the phonies that acts friendly but hates everyone “it makes me sick”
In my opinion I think that he just does everything he does because he is a depressed young man and that is the only thing that can actually make him feel better about that sorry ass excuse that he calls his life. I also noticed that in the book he is only happy when he is talking crap on some one in his head because he is not man in off to say it to your face or sitting back laughing at others. He is very shady and he is good at being shady so I honestly would not know if he was being real with me or not or if he hated me. I would most likely just stay away from him because he sounds like he is just an eemo type kid. He is not my type of person I would never hang out with someone like that at all to begin with but now that i’m furthering to the book I agree with my class when they say I HATE HOLDEN! I’m sure a lot of people do and I don’t blame him I just find it funny how you can call the world phonies and be the phonies at the same time

The Mark of a Man
When Mr. Antoloni says, “The mark of an immature man is that he wants to die nobly for a cause…” I think he means that the man is immature because dyeing for a cause is good and all but what are actually doing for that cause if you are dead? That’s right nothing! When a man is dead, that man is of no use to the cause any more. You might have done a lot of good things, but you are not doing them anymore. The man may have even had a great success for the cause, and that is great, but his success ended when he died. He is even more immature because he wants to die for that cause. It means that the man is selfish. He is only thinking of how he can be glorified and praised. If the man cannot realize that he is no good dead, then in my opinion he is very immature. In my mind he only wants to be remembered.
Mr. Antoloni also says “…while the mark of a mature man is that he wants to live humbly for one.” I think what he is saying is that the man that is the most mature and wants to live for his cause. He knows that while he lives he can be assured that the cause is the most important thing, and that it is accomplished. The man is humble because he knows that the cause is much greater than him. He realizes that he is just a pawn to the cause, and he is accepting of that. He is humbled by the fact that he is a part of such a huge cause. All in all, I think he is saying that you should try to live for a good cause and be humbled by that cause. You are no good when you are dead, so live and do all you can for it.

Holden's Negativity
Holden definitely points out all the negativity he see’s. For the most part, the words he says are true. He chooses to look for negativity in the world and then he chooses to dwell on it. He spends so much time seeking negativity that he doesn’t spend enough time on looking for it in him. He is so worried about what others are doing wrong and pointing out their mistakes, which doesn’t allow enough time to worry about himself. I think that Holden gets too caught up in making others things right rather than himself. Holden really needs to grasp the concept that he is only in control of himself, and now one has the control over him or any other person. He can’t change how people act, but he can change how he deals with their actions. The Serenity Prayer would really help him out in this situation. He needs the serenity to accept that he can’t change others, he needs the courage to change himself, and he most definitely needs the wisdom to know the difference between these two laws of life.
I think that if Holden knew about the Law of the Harvest his life may go differently. You reap what you sow. What he puts out in life will be what he gets. Holden consistently puts out negativity into the world, and he is consistently feeling down and depressed. It is proven that if you put out good things, nurture it and care for it, then it will come back good. You can’t plant an apple seed and expect for it to produce peaches. You can’t milk a cow and expect chocolate milk. Holden plants seeds of negativity, yet he expects positivity to develop from them. That is factually impossible.
Holden is far from perfect, but he wants everyone else to be. He wants so much people to stop being phony, yet he is phony himself. Holden just needs to chill out, take some time to himself and figure himself out. I find it kind of funny how he is so judgmental of everyone else, but he does the exact same thing he tells others not to do. He is so caught up in the drama of the world, when he really needs to take time for himself. Holden is one of the most oxymoronic people that I have ever heard of. He is ridiculously hypocritical in everything he does. If Holden were to slow down, he would find better ways of going about doing things. He really has good intentions, or he wouldn’t care so much about everyone doing stupid things.
I think that Holden needs to be medically stabilized in order for him to be emotionally healthy. He has a lot of diagnosis, but I think that his most severe problem is depression. I think that if depression was eliminated then his other problems would become very insignificant and small. Holden is a good person, but he has a lot of problems. Hearing his thoughts just brings the reader more aware of his problems. I think that everyone is just like he is. I think that theoretically if I were in anyone else’s head they would have thoughts along the same lines as Holden. We all experience negative and positive thoughts, it’s part of being human. Most people just aren’t aware of their problems because, just like Holden, they are too worried about other people.

Holden and His Problems
There are many times in the book where Holden thinks that he is a saint and all of the things that are happening to him are somebody's fault other than himself. Holden likes to view himself as perfect person however, in order to do that he must point out everyone's flaws to make himself look good and cover up all of his other mistakes that he has done in the past. He can't accept the fact that it is okay to be wrong every once in a while or to make mistakes because that is a part of growing up and being human. Because of this Holden can be very hard on himself and gets mad that he isn't as perfect as he would like to be.
In the beginning of the book Holden gets into a fight with his roommate Stradlater because he was talking down about this girl Holden likes and just being flat out disrespectful about her. Holden does the same thing and thinks so horrible things right along with it. He may not do it to that girl in particular but he does it to random people like the hooker he picked up.
Holden calls everyone around him a phony and cruel but he is the same way at times. He may not see it at times but he does it often. Holden doesn't like it when people aren't real around him but yet when he talks to his authorities He either acts like he cares and feeds them lies about his life or anything that they want to hear. He will also just be rude and brush them to the side like he is better than them even if he is younger than them. Holden treats people with disrespect but makes an attitude when they do it to him. As you read the book you find out that the more he sort of breaks down that the less he is able to handle it. However I do think that he starts to realize as time goes on that he is very hypocritical and not only hard on himself but also expects more out of others than really necessary.
Holden is a good person at heart overall but at the same time he can be very rude toward people. All people can be that way though. Everyone does judge one another and have bad days where they come across rude or disrespectful. It is about how you go about it though. You can spread roomers, go insane, fly off the wall on some random person at the store, or become isolated and try to end your life because you are having a hard time or you can keep your opinions to yourself, try to work it out with someone, or do what you can to handle things in an appropriate manner. Either way it must come from you and I believe that Holden is beginning to recognize that.

Oh, Lord!
Holden Caulfield. He truly thinks he is superior to all around him. He picks out who’s the horn dogs, who the sleaze, who just fake, but I don’t think he ever looks at himself. He is trying to numb himself with all this crap so he can see himself as perfect. He’s the one who is phony; he is on max with hypocrisy. Does he need a shrink?
He is so worried about pointing out all the people around him that have these problems, but who is he to do that. I’m sure that others look at him the way he does for them and he’d be appalled is he knew. He’s in denial of himself having issues. Or he may just be drinking to numb his true feelings or so he may view himself differently. He wants to be known by his parents for something, I honestly don’t believe that he is doing it the right way. He is hiding from reality and won’t face it.
He mainly is just lost and confused. Holden is extremely pessimistic and critical of others. Any flaw that he himself possesses will be pushed onto another person and criticized by him. We are not certain whether or not he really sees that these are his faults. Holden is especially angered by the way that he sees people as being "phonies", yet he himself often becomes what is expected, to the extent that he is able, smothering anything that he thinks is not socially acceptable. I don’t think he knows who he really is, and for many teens, that is true. He does, inside, have a huge heart for girls, but then goes back on what he says when he talks about fooling around with girls. He hates truly when people swear, but he says goddamn every other word. Is he just doing it for a show? Who knows? He manipulates people with his little lies, which truly only proves him to be phony. So, in a way he is and a way he isn’t.
He reveals in the story that he has depression. He numbs him self by drinking. He has “middle child disorder” it seems to have left him feeling invisible and constantly craving attention, both positive and negative. This also leads to him not having any understanding of the affect his actions can have on others. He has gone through several traumatic events that appear to have been left undealt with. First off beginning, with the death of his brother Allie, whom he was beyond close to. Caulfield also saw a schoolmate die after being teased mercilessly by the other boys. The young man backed up and out through a window, falling to his death. When he is staying in a hotel, he sees a cross-dresser and two lovers spitting in each others' faces through his window and is at once disgusted and aroused. Holden hates this part of himself that he doesn't understand. His self-loathing is evident.

Results are In
Luce suggests that Holden needs psychoanalysis because he has deep issue that he is in denial about. Luce repeatedly says that Holden needs to grow up.
He has obvious depression. He has deep anxiety. He labels everyone and everything. He shows major bi-polar signs. He doesn’t trust anyone’s instincts. He likes to control everything. He gets angry when things don’t go the way he wants them to go. He has misperception of the world and wants it to go the way he wants it to go. He thinks that everyone is out to get him. He has and addiction to numbing his problems with alcohol, at 16 it’s sad to already be an alcoholic. He’s a helpless, immature boy that has confusion and a misunderstanding about women and their needs.
He doesn’t like to look at himself for having a problem with things or with the basic expectation of life. He doesn’t ever talk about his family or what’s happened with them. He doesn’t like to think of himself of having problems. So, that’s why he points out everyone else’s flaws. He is hypocritical and an inane BOY.
He can’t figure out his own problems in life because he’s putting up walls and running from reality. He doesn’t talk to his family. He calls old friends and acts like he’s older so he doesn’t have to face his family and his deep psychological problems.
He needs help before it’s too late. He needs to be honest with himself and his family before it’s too late. He may die from alcohol poisoning or trying to hit on a taken woman. He is too young for reality; he needs to think about his life and live life as a teen before he really is living on his own. He is living his life in pain, abandonment, regret, disappointment and loneliness. He does care about his family but is too ashamed to face them.
I think a therapist is needed for this one
I think that Luce is right when he tells Holden he needs to get a psychoanalysis done. At the very least I think that he should talk to a therapist. I think it would help him with his depression and oppositional defiance. If Holden were to talk to a therapist then it would help him acknowledge his problems and to learn more skills in order to help him be successful later on. I’m not sure if he is being the way he is because of something that has happened in his childhood or if this is just a really bad case of normal teenage rebellion.
Holden has a hard time seeing that he has many problems ranging from attitude and cause trouble with adults to being very belligerent and breaking the law. When he sees that he is getting into trouble he just passes it off as people don’t understand him so nothing is ever really his fault. He can’t see that his life would go by easier if he would just acknowledge that he is wrong sometimes and that people aren’t always being phony around him. People are just trying to help him and he keeps on pushing them away by being rude or hostile at times. Holden has a hard time admitting that he is the only making his life miserable.
Holden can’t see his own problems because he is too busy criticizing everyone around him in order to make himself look or feel superior around them. He is worrying about everyone else before he is taking care of himself. He needs to learn to mind his own business I think because that is what tends to get him into trouble in the first place. That is also why he is getting upset or depressed all of the time which brings on all of the negative thinking causing him to be arrogant to everyone. If he would learn to overcome these things he would be kinder to people and learn happiness.
Holden and Stability
Holden likes the museum so much because it is the only consistent thing in his life right now. It was one of the only stable things in his childhood; one of the only things he could count on. He could always depend on it to always be there, and he wouldn’t be let down by it. The museum was always the same, and it will always stay the same, unlike everything else in his life. The concept of consistency is what I mean to make clear, it’s not necessarily the material in the museum, or even the museum itself, but what it means to Holden. It is the feeling of dependency and stability in his life that he hasn’t ever had. It’s the idea and the consequence he receives when he confides in the museum, because, in theory, anything could take the place of the museum in his life. If the object can be depended on, Holden could put his trust into it. Holden puts his confidence in cigarettes, alcohol, his sister, and himself, because he believe he won’t be betrayed by those things. He believes that he can’t possibly be betrayed by the museum, so he puts stock into it.
Holden has had a very inconsistent life. He has changed to multiple different schools, which is a very drastic change in a child’s life. At first, he probably put trust into people in his first people, and into the school itself. But the he consequentially was betrayed, in a sense, by the school because he was taken from it. When something like this happens over and over again he begins to put less and less trust into things. I think that is what fuels the hate of school, because he has had to leave so many different ones, which result in the feeling of betrayal towards any school. He makes a generalization based on his past experiences, and refuses to trust anything anymore. When his little brother died, his family life drastically changed, creating inconsistency. At one moment everything was the same, he was in his comfort zone, and the next moment he was ripped from everything he knew, being forced into leaving his comfort zone. Holden has had a hard life, not in the sense of physical abuse, but emotional inconsistency, which I think he perceived as emotional abuse. This contributes to his trust issues, and why he likes the museum so much.
Like the Indians in the glass boxes in the museum, I think Holden would want to be thrown in a glass box also. He wouldn’t have to deal with the world anymore, and would be taking the easy way out of life. He hates people in general, and is very antisocial. I don’t think that he would mind being left alone. I personally think it would do him some good, because he would only have himself, so he could get to know himself. Holden is lost, and doesn’t have the slightest clue of who he is. In addition, I think that Holden would throw all the people he dislikes in to a glass box, if he had the chance. Again, he would be taking the easy way out of life, which he tends to do.
Holden decides to not go into the museum because he is scared. I think he is scared that the museum has changed. This would lead to more feelings of betrayal in his life, and he would lose something yet again. I think he is also scared to trust something again, or go back to something he once trusted, because he has lived his life without any trust for a while now. If he went into the museum, it could bring back happiness, which Holden hates. He is in such a negative state in his life that being happy would force him to change. Depression is his comfort zone, so he shuts out everything positive, because he is comfortable. Realizing that there may be something good out there in the world would challenge the way he is living right now, which would take him out of his comfort zone.

Catcher in the Rye
I think that, in general, Holden disrespects women. Throughout the book, Holden has consistently looked at women as objects. He dehumanizes them, and doesn’t see them as a person. He devalues their personality, only judging them on their looks. This is all a generalization because Holden does value, respect and humanize certain women such as: Jane, his mother and his sister. He loves these three women more than he loves any other man. I don’t think Holden is sexist, he is just judgmental. He dislikes more males than females, but he has a lower opinion of women in general. Holden doesn’t treat anyone very well, not matter what the gender is, but I think he has less negativity toward women. I think that he dislikes men a lot more and he treats them with less respect. He would fight a man, but wouldn’t hit a woman. He cares about women more than man and empathizes for them. When Holden was faced with the choice to have sex with a prostitute he felt bad for her, and refused. He isn’t a bad person, just a fake person. He has a heart. Although he tries to hide it, it comes out once in a while.
Holden respects his little sister, his mother and girls that he has real, intimate feelings toward. I think that he has the most respect towards his little sister, and he shows it through his words. He describes her with words that express genuine love and care. He thinks more of her than he probably does of himself. He cares about her very much and he values her more that most women, if not all women. The way that he talks about her allows the reader to actually feel the strong emotions Holden feels for his sister. Holden loves his mother because she is his mother. We all have a very strong connection with our mother, because we all came from them. We love them very much because they are the person that gave us life; the person that took care of us and loved us unconditionally, no matter what the circumstance.
I think that Holden devalues everyone, so his opinion of women fits his personality perfectly. I personally think that he has a better chance of respecting women more than men. His still has a negative paradigm towards everyone, but it becomes slightly more positive when he is faced with women. I think that girls bring out the best in him and they allow him the opportunity to show his good heart. Holden has good intentions, but he his ego gets in the way of his true self revealing itself.
Holden’s feelings towards his family
I think that there are times when Holden loves his family but there are other times when he just wants to strangle them. It is a common occurrence among families especially in siblings. He misses them at times though he may not want to admit it except if it is his sister. Holden may not agree with his family but they are still his family and nothing can change that no matter how hard he wishes otherwise. Holden feels like he is the family screw up but I don’t think he is because he just learned differently from his siblings like I was with mine. I had to make so many mistakes before I got something. My siblings just learned from my parents mistakes or just did what they were told because they were afraid of the consequences.
Hold used to idolize his brother. I believe he still does deep down but wont accept that reality yet. His brother is Hollywood and being successful Holden wishes he was and was acknowledged for what he does well instead of always being corrected. It seems to me like Holden is always secretly jealous of his brother and gets down on himself for not being more like him. He thinks if he was more like him them he would stay out of trouble more.
Holden loves his sister and is probably the closest to her out of all her family members. He enjoys her company and feels like he can be himself around her. They hardly ever fight and it’s like he understands her just as she understands him. Holden doesn’t get into fights around he and fells like he can talk to her about anything and he won’t be judged by it from he.
I get the feeling just as he despises his brother for being so successful he despises his parents for not noticing him or showing that they care for him. He thinks that his parents whish he was his brother if he ever crosses their minds. He loves them though as much as he hates to admit it or wants to act like it. His parents are trying to do what they can for him even if it is hard Holden just can’t see it yet. It will pay off in the end though I think.
Holden is sarcastic and rude and hates showing he cares for any family member s but his little sister. He doesn’t want to admit they are helping him out in the long run because it would hurt to think that they do really care for him. When it comes to his family it’s like one big love hate relationship that he doesn’t really he actually cares about.
Liar, liar, pants on fire.
Holden makes me want to punch someone. He’s beyond hypocritical. He lies to Mrs. Morrow by his name, some janitor at Pencey. He then, later, feels bad that he had lied to her after. He tells her that he loves the school, but truthfully was getting kicked out and hated it. HELLO, he left because he had gotten into a fight with his roommate. He say’s all these things about her son that makes her see her son in a totally different way. He despises her son; in all actuality he’s completely jealous. We all know deep in him he wants to laugh at what he himself is saying because he cannot stand the sight of her son. Why in the heck would you go into this HUGE prevarication? Tiny tumor on the brain, come on now, lets get real. Needless to say you have to remember that this book is based from the 1940. So, a tiny tumor on the brain isn’t just some flyspeck. Holden, dude, lets be literal. If you don’t like someone tell them, yeah the truth hurts, so do scrapped knees. Don’t say your going to go to South America with your Grandma, which he said himself doesn’t ever leave her house. In my opinion I think why he does this is because he’s insecure with himself. He is pissed off at the world because he can’t pull his cards the way he wants. Any teen would hate this. He is just jealous that everyone has the high life; he’s just an immature punk-ass BOY. He has a lot of growing up to do, and needs a serious wake up call. It’s despicable that he has to say goddamn and helluva every other word, because he honestly HATES it when people swear, why should he?

Being Phony
Being phony is very similar to being fake. It is showing a fake face, putting on a mask, not showing your true self or colors and not being real. When you are being phony you are putting up a front, not being who you really are which is practically lying by assent to everyone you come in contact with. You make up certain aspects of a personality that you think others like and you show it to them. You try to implement many different and contradicting personality traits into your own personality, but they’re not who you really are. The person you are with will determine what mask or persona you want to portray to the world. Being phony will limit yourself in behaving certain ways because you become indecisive, questioning what others will want you to do, not knowing which way to behave because you don’t know how others will react. You don’t know who you are and you have no sense of self. You may become phony because you dislike certain characteristics of your personality, so you try to hide them, showing only the positive; showing what others want. If you dislike yourself you try to find yourself in others. You may become a perfectionist due to low self-esteem, and trying to do only right, seeking acceptance from others so you can accept yourself. Being phony will enable you to run and hide from your problems; hide from who you really are.
I think Holden see’s through people’s faces and their masks; seeing who they really are, and he dislike it. He dislikes people being fake, because he himself is fake. We tend to clash more with people who are more like us, especially if we have a strong, dominate personality. Holden clashes with most people because he feels insecure of himself, and people intimidate him. I assume that he has lots of anxiety and depression, and I assume that he feels threatened by most people. I also think he envies a lot of people, so he becomes fake; he becomes the people he envies because people like them. Holden also has a gift for seeing through people’s lies and their fronts, which results in harsh judgment. I think Holden dislike phony people because he sees himself in them and it scares him. He dislikes them because he dislikes himself.
Holden is a hypocrite. He doesn’t like people being fake and phony, yet he acts the exact same way. He tells people what they want to hear, but he thinks the exact opposite of them. He has learned to kiss up to others, (brown-nosing) and make them believe that he is something he is really not. If others like him and see positive attributes in him, he thinks he will begin to like himself more. He puts on masks, fronts and faces which is the exact same thing he judges other people on.
Should we really be expelled from schools?
I think that it would be okay for a Principal/Headmaster to expel a student from a school if they are continuously fighting, selling test answers to another student, or if they are selling drugs to another person. All of these reasons are in someway or another influencing other kids to engage in a very negative manner. Bringing other people down is probably my biggest irritation in schools. For me school should be a safe place, one where a student shouldn't have to worry about getting hurt or being peer pressured into some situation where their success in life becomes endangered. Some facility members in schools I’ve been in aren't paying enough attention to what's going on exactly and two of my best friends have died due to that neglect. I've even suffered because of that as well. I would rather have a kid expelled from a school then have one of my siblings fall into cheating, fighting, or drugs. If I was doing these things I would expect to be expelled because I know that I was raised a whole lot better than that.
I believe that Houlden has been expelled from so many schools because he just doesn't care. He also has this “I’m so bad-ass and no one can top that” kind of thing that he puts out to the other people around him so no one wants to even help him through anything. Houlden just feeds people the crap they want to hear so he can leave and do whatever he wants to do. It almost seems to me like he is trying to prove everyone right that he can't do it so people will get off his back. Those that know better are trying to help him but he is deluding himself so hard into believing he isn't worth it so he doesn't have to see or accept the reality that he is only hurting himself in the end. I don't think he realizes that he is affecting other people around him and their success. I don't even think he realizes that if he keeps it up he is gonna fail so badly that he won't ever have the chance at a wonderful life. It almost seems to me like he likes to get into trouble as well. Intended or not that is what he is doing.
Holding has a lot of things going on in his life right now. Some he brought upon himself I believe. His sarcasm his getting him into trouble, He uses a lot of thinking errors, and I think he doesn't know how to get attention in an appropriate manner so he causes trouble to get that. Holding is also very lazy in a way. I mean you really have to try to fail if you think about it. I’m not too sure on his home life but I’d bet that his parents are like those rick stuck up don't notice you and or have time for you kind of parents you read about in books or see in movies. Don't get me wrong I think that he is a very bright, intelligent person he just acts stupid so he won't have to work as hard. I honestly believe that if knew how to get the attention in which he is seeking in a positive manner without having to work hard he'd do it. Unless it's writing, which isn't very hard to do, he half-asses everything.
Expelled
Why should someone be expelled from school? In my opinion, I think that violence and extreme violence is the number one reason to expel, especially if they keep doing bad things and making more violence, even if they get in trouble and they still do it. I think that violence is a big problem in our schools. We need to give them hooligans who are looking for trouble, some consequences because the best thing to do in a situation that is affecting many people, and its not stopping, is get them out of the school so we don’t have to deal with them.
Of course there are a lot of things to get in trouble and expelled for. I think the next best reason to expel someone is for carrying and/or selling drugs or weapons. Even suspicion of people having or selling drugs, alcohol or weapons is a good reason to talk and discuss it. I think repeat offenders should start getting the right punishments so they won’t think that they will “not get in a lot of trouble” because they already did it and know the consequences. Like with Holden, he was expelled from around four schools just because his grades are bad. I think this is not a good reason at all for kicking someone out of a school.
I think that one of the most reasons kids get expelled is for behavior problems and even though they get in trouble, they still are acting up and being defiant. I don’t know how you could expel someone because of their grades when there are people who are repeat offenders and sell drugs or fight. I think that if they expelled more people for good reasons, I think there would be less of the drugs, violence, and people who keep acting up.

Malcolm X
Malcolm Little, later known as Malcolm X, was a self-destructive youth who was transformed into an educated leader. An African American leader, famous and followed for his strong belief in Black Pride and equal rights, overcame many trials and tribulations throughout his life. He is a great example on shifting his paradigm and changing a lifestyle that would eventually result in and early, and unexpected, death. Showing a desire for learning and education, he fulfilled his hunger for knowledge through reading and experiencing. Malcolm X overcame his addiction to cocaine, gambling and other crimes, showing personal growth and overcoming adversity.
Malcolm Little, born fourth into a family of seven, had a rough childhood. His father, Earl Little, was a very influential Baptist lay speaker, a Pan-African supporter, and a local leader of the Universal Negro Improvement Association. His father taught his children the values of Black Pride and self-reliance, which would later impact Malcolm when he grew up.
When Malcolm was at a young age three of his brothers, one of which was lynched, died violently at the hands of the local White Suppremists. Because of Ku Klux Klan threats, the Little family was forced to relocate to Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1926. In 1929 the Little’s home was burned down by Klansmen, fortunately, the family escaped with minor injuries. Malcolm suffered from many racial antagonism and harassment during his years growing up.
Malcolm grew up in the ghetto and later got involved in drug dealing, racketeering, robbery and pimping. He got arrested for picking up a stolen watch he dropped off at a repair store. He was sentenced to 8-10 years in prison. While in prison he continued his self-destructive behaviors until he met a man he called Bimbi. Bimbi encouraged him to educate himself by reading and changing his life around. Malcolm found the Nation of Islam (NOI) and changed himself. This transformation and commitment to the NOI would later influence his speeches and teachings.
Malcolm X was a very influential and educated speaker for the Nation of Islam. Elijah Muhammad appointed Malcolm and the National Speaker for the NOI after he led a demonstration due to police brutality. I think his greatest accomplishment was recognizing a problem with society at the time, and he had the incentive to do something about it. Many people viewed him as a hate monger and a Black Suppremist, but in my opinion he was standing up for what he believed in. Malcolm X was on a path to death but he changed it and turned into one of the most educated and influential leader of his time. Everyone else was allowing negative things to go on that society deemed appropriate, but Malcolm saw the visible flaws in what was going on and he committed to stopping it. He went to extremes to stopping the racial hate that was going on. What was happening deserved to be treated harshly and extremely.
Malcolm X exemplifies many aspects of the Creed, but the most profound ones are Education and Life Long Learning, and Personal Growth. While Malcolm was in prison he educated himself by reading books and then he developed a love for learning and education. A high school drop out turned into a smart, well educated leader is a good way to describe Malcolm X. He was a drug addict, preferably cocaine, a gambling addict and a thief, but he changed his life around, with help from Bimbi and the NOI. He changed his self-destructive behaviors and became clean and respectable. Malcolm X was very smart, excelling in school, until the eighth grade. A teacher had told him he couldn’t do anything because he was black and then he dropped out. He figured out a legal way to evade the draft to fight in World War Two and didn’t get caught for most of his crimes. He wasn’t stupid and when he decided to put his brain to good use he made history.
Malcolm X, demonstrating a desire for education and life long learning and personal growth is an example we should all look up to and follow. Seeing through his mistakes, and only looking at the positive, will allow us to better ourselves and improve certain aspects of our lives. Sometimes all of us could do, as Malcolm X demonstrated, is seeing the flaws in the society and media and make an effort to change it. There is always room for improvement and everything changes, except change, so we should influence the world we live in positively. Malcolm X shows that you can always turn your life around, even in the darkest circumstance. We should implement his positive aspects into ourselves. I respect him for what he did and his inherent values and skills.

Anne Frank
Throughout Anne Frank’s short life, she faced many obstacles in her life like war, racism, self-worth, and abuse from the fascist leaders. Anne was forced to go into hiding because of her religion and race. Anne shows us that just because life is hard and hateful doesn’t mean we can’t be happy and overcome adversity and challenges. Anne learned to grow in many aspects of her life by keeping her head held high and finding the good in most things. Even though Anne struggled to find herself, while in hiding, she was still able to go on with her life in a positive manner. Because of a horrible event in time; a wonderful spirit, Anne Frank, has left and will continue to leave a big impact on many people’s lives.
As you read Anne Frank’s journals you can see how lively she was; however, as she goes into hiding and becomes a teenager you also see how mature she becomes and the struggles she goes through. You also view how she wants to grow up and be a mature woman very badly as she gets older. Anne was always looking for ways to learn and grow whenever she could without loosing her ability while understanding her surroundings and the consequences of the choices she was making. While in hiding Anne struggles to find herself; but, still learns that life will always have trials, but how we handle them is what really matters.
Anne frank’s family along with the Van Pels was in hiding in the Annex, from July 6, 1942 to August 8, 1944 before they were turned into the Nazi. During these two years Anne wrote daily in her favorite journal; which she called “Kitty” sharing her inner most thoughts and feelings until she was arrested. She wrote letters in her journal to friends, helpers, and to those she was hiding with; however, she called them by different names to protect them in case someone found her journal. Anne very brilliantly used her journal to figure out who she was and to stay optimistic. Anne used whatever means possible to overcome the hardships in her life and to improve herself in what little time, unknown to her, she had remaining. Anne continued to stand up for what she believed in no matter what the consequences were. Anne used her journal and hiding as a way of not conforming to what the government wanted.
Anne Frank exemplifies both the ability to overcome adversity and challenges as well as being committed to personal growth in all areas of life. Anne chose not to stop believing in her religion just because Hitler hated Jews. Throughout her life in hiding Anne wrote in her journal about the difficulties in finding herself instead of lashing out at others. She was committed to finding all obstacles in her life and facing them head on without fear. Whether that was through not conforming or just to stay bright and lively regardless how the outside world was going on around her. She tried to help bring up peoples spirits in the camp she was at. The Nazis’ did everything to tear her down. She didn’t let them have her hope or the desire to learn though.
Anne Frank went through many hardships although she took it with grace. She made the best out of every situation. Anne Frank gave everyone respect and simple common courtesy. If we all did this, this world would be a better place for everyone. There would be no war or racism. Anne Frank did a bunch of little things in the end turned out to add up to one big change for many people today. Everyone's life is already hard enough why would you wish to add to it.

Babe Ruth
The legend continues
“I swing big, with everything I’ve got. I hit big or I miss big. I like to live as big as I can” –Babe Ruth
George Herman Ruth better known as Babe Ruth was the first superstar in sports. Some say he could have been the world’s greatest left hand pitcher but instead he became the world’s greatest hitter. His famous Rookie card is soled for 500,000 dollars and that was back in 2008. His baseball bat is sold for 1.3 million dollars! Now that’s a lot of money to spend, but that’s how much money you need to spent in order to own a legend’s historical artifacts.
Babe Ruth was often referred as the world’s best baseball player who ever lived. In 22 seasons he hit 714 homeruns. So he mainly was known as the home-run hitter. In 1927 he set the record for hitting 60 homeruns in 154 games, a major league record that stood until 1961. Babe Ruth was one of the only two people to ever hit a homerun in the World’s Series Games. He also became part of the Hall of Fame. At the age of fifthteen he was playing both catcher and pitcher for St. Mary’s varsity team.
At the age of 19 he was discover by Jack Dunn, who signed him to a professional contract but couldn’t because Ruth was under the school custody so, Ruth had to remain in school. That led to some difficulty, and that lead Dunn to adopt Ruth to be able to go play baseball. People thought it was way funny that at the age of 19 Ruth was adopted and was Dunns’s baby! That’s how he got his nickname Babe Ruth. He started to play in a small team Dunn wasn’t making any money and so he and two other players were going to get traded but Ruth didn’t wanted to but he still got traded so then he play for the Boston, Red sox where he became known as the best player later on he got traded for the New York, Yankees for twice the amount of a regular trade off.
He faced a lot of taught challenges. He’s a great example of over coming adversity. He came from a family of eight children but only him and his sister Mimie survived infancy. At the age of seven his parents give up custody to St. Mary’s industrial school. He hated how they treated and the strict rules but, he did what he thought was the best. He soon learned that that was the best decision he ever made because there is where he learned to play baseball, the game that lead him to success.
In conclusion, Babe Ruth was a great man who over came adversity and never give up even when things got tough. Coming from a family with nothing he still made a difference in he’s life. He didn’t let things get to him and kept studying in school and played the game he loved and because he stayed in school he got to live the dream he never even imagine. More than seventy years has passed since Babe Ruth passed away but, he is still remains like The Best Baseball Player.
Muhammad Ali
The boxing legend Mahamad Ali “The King of the Ring.” Is a young 18 year old, gold medalist. He was trained by a cop named Joe Martin in junior high. He became a fames boxing legend, and he created the “Make a Wish” adoption agency. He reminds me of the creed because he dedicated his life to serve others and personally delivered food to those in need just because he cared.
Mahamad Ali, first started learning how to box in junior high, even though it was hard he stuck to it. He started to learn to box because someone stole his bike and wanted to beat them up. When he was 18 he won an Olympic gold metal in the Athletic Union light weight fights in Rome. After that he dedicated his life to service by caring about those in need. I love boxing so his story inspires me and makes me want to stick to what I like to do. His story tells me that you can accomplish anything you set your mind to.
I think that his greatest accomplishment is that he was that much of an important person that he got to light the flame in Atlanta in 1996 Olympics. As we all know he began his carrier as a young boxer then went on to create the “Make a Wish” adoption agency. I think this is his greatest accomplishment because, he helped orphans get in to loving family’s he actually care to make a difference in children’s life’s, another accomplishment he made was a study he started on by donating $30 million to find a cure to parking sons syndrome witch he was diagnosed with it in September 1984. He did this so that others wouldn’t have to go threw what he did.
If, you were to ask me what category of the Summit student Creed I’d put him under I would label him under the line “I pledge to be caring, and live a life of service”
Because my example of this is how he started the” Make a Wish” foundation. I chose this example because, he dedicated himself to helping others and put little kids with loving families that were there and really cared. I also think that the cure foundation that he started fits in the aspect of caring because he donated $30 million to find a cure to Parkinson’s syndrome, because he suffered through it himself and if you can help stop it, why wouldn’t you? He also started the world peace group because he didn’t like violence, witch I find odd because he was a boxer but that’s another one of his accomplishments that got to me.
I think that life long learning is another aspect of the creed that reminds me of Muhammad Ali because he never stopped trying to learn new ways to better himself and ways to help others. Just like when he created the adoption agency. I honestly think that everyone can make a difference all they need to do is try a little harder to be a little better and they can make a difference.

Helen Keller
Helen Keller lost her sight and hearing at a young age of 19 months. Even though she became known as “mute” at such a young age, Keller went on to writing books and being an American Lecturer. This is a great example of how Keller used her disability to show you can do anything and not use it as a crutch. Waking up daily not being able to understand what anything is, but then accomplishing all the great things she did, truly shows how she overcame adversity. At times she would scream, but one thing she didn’t do was give up.
June 27, 1880, in Tuscumbia, Alabama, a beautiful, healthy baby girl, was born to Captain Arthur and Kate Keller. Suddenly, in February of 1882 the 19 year old, Helen Keller, was down with, at the time know as, “brain fever.” Coming down with this caused her to lose her sight, speech, and hearing. She spent the next couple years clinging to her moms’ skirt. March 3, 1887, Anne Sullivan came to help teach, Helen, sign language. Anne was a strict teacher. She wouldn’t deal with Helens’ tantrums, and she would even hit back. At times, Helens father would see that Anne wasn’t letting her eat. Repeatedly, he would demand for a reason for why she would do that. She would simply reply with, “She wouldn’t get dressed. She needs to learn to “listen.” ” Later on Helen realized that Anne was there to help. They became close and lifelong friends.
Helen went on in life, with the help of Anne, to school. She graduated Perkins Academy being Valedictorian. With her amazing memory, Helen could put her fingers to someone’s mouth and know what they were saying. She went on in 1904, cum laude, and first blind/deaf person to receive a college degree. In 1924, she was known for raising funds for the American Foundation for the Blind. She also became a supporter for women to vote and use birth control. Even in 1933, when Nazis’ burned a bunch of her political essays, it never stopped her. She later on wrote a book “The Story of My Life.” She used the money from that to buy herself a house. She went on as an American Lecturer and became a very good friend to the Chinese.
Think long and hard. Most teens these days think schools have so adversity to overcome, which is true. Imagine being blind and deaf on top of it all. She was “mute” and still managed to graduate Valedictorian. She wrote her books by signing to her help, Anne. She would find ways to make it and not give up when things got to tough. She came from clinging to her mom to this spotlight idol for everyone! She really overcame the adversity in life, which most would have said was impossible to do.
So in all, life has its obstacle. What you do with them and how you act, will determine the outcome. Overcoming adversity is part of many people’s lives. Learn empathy. Helen Keller is a huge role model. She had disabilities, but didn’t make it the excuse to no do anything. She never once gave up, that’s why you shouldn’t either when life gives you challenges.

Amelia Earhart
When Amelia Earhart was 10 she saw her first plane but it wasn’t until she was about 20 that she got interested in flying, at a stunt flying exhibition. She took her first flying lesson when she was 24 and that changed her for good cause six months later she bought her first plane a yellow Second-Hand Kiner Airster. Her greatest accomplishments were being the first woman to fly across the Atlantic and being the first woman to fly across the Atlantic solo. I think that Amelia most exemplifies the part of the creed that mentions overcoming adversity. The reason why she is an example of this part of the creed is because she was told so many times what a woman can and can’t do and she still chose to follow her dreams.
On December 28, 1920 Amelia and her father visited Frank Hawks who gave her a ride on his plane. “By the time I had got two or three hundred feet off the ground I knew I had to fly” Quoted Earhart. Amelia had her first flying lessons beginning on January 3, 1921, at Kiner Field. Six months after that Amelia bought her first plane, a Kiner Airster, in which she broke her first record of rising to an altitude of 14’000 feet. Then April of 1928, Amelia got a phone call “how would you like to fly the Atlantic.” She promptly replied yes.
I think that Amelia’s flight across the Atlantic solo and her first flight across the Atlantic were her greatest accomplishments. Accompanied by Wilmer Stultz and co-pilot Louis Gordon Amelia took her first flight across the Atlantic and on June 11, 1928 landed in Wales, United Kingdom. In Amelia’s solo flight across the Atlantic she experienced many hardships although she eventually landed in a pasture in Northern Ireland. I think that these are Amelia’s greatest accomplishments because she wouldn’t let herself be told she couldn’t.

Good Goes Bad
When evils good, the good goes bad
Just a little boy asking for a second chance
One imperfect decision left him stuck
His future loomed to show no love
This life is rare and up to no good
His freedom taken away to make it better understood
He stands on a road with two directions
Little does he know he’s really facing
The biggest dicision of his life
Now it’s ether bow down or fight
But bowing down isn’t him so he’ll stand and fight, for his beliefs
Even if it means laying 6ft. deep
He feeds from his power of will
And is very deadly when he grips the steal
He’s always ready for the good or bad
His life is in his hands
He completely understands
That, the end is near
Still he stands alone with no help or fear.
Want to Give Up
It’s just one of those days that make, you want to give up
The love from your FAM just isn’t in off
You want to move on all that you want is peace
But there’s something missing something in between
You’re FAM and friends give you they’re full support
But for some reason that don’t matter no more
You want to give up but can’t ask for help
You’re looking in to the eyes of hell
Trying to make a name for yourself
Some how, you end up in all the wrong places
Talking to strangers and unfamiliar faces
Knowing one false move could leave you dead
You walk with regrets but have to pretend
Like your life is ku
Like if you got a lot to gain but nothing to lose
Sounds
As I lay on a summer night,
I see the stars but feel a fright,
I hear wicked sounds
Throughout the grounds,
I’m so scared, I see no light
I can feel the fright,
The sounds of night are deathly ill
The power of karma has no will,
Until I see what’s in front of me,
I won’t sleep, but continue to weep.
I hate this life,
Struggling to strife,
Ill never see the brighter side of me,
All I see is black and white,
All I hear are the sounds of night.
I see the stars but feel a fright,
I hear wicked sounds
Throughout the grounds,
I’m so scared, I see no light
I can feel the fright,
The sounds of night are deathly ill
The power of karma has no will,

Tears of despair
Tears of despair
They say real man don’t cry
But he’s heart had died
He felt everyone had lied
Trying to comfort him I sat by his side
It turns out a chick he once had
Left him feeling sad
“I love her” he said
“It’d be easier to put the gun to my head,
We spent so much time together but it was never enough
She made realize that I’m not that taught
She made me stop dealing cocaine
I was ready to give her my last name
There’s no one better than her
She so real and so pure.”
“I’m sorry” was my respond
“Even though you think I don’t”
Remember you can talk to me when you’re feeling down
The sun always rises the world goes around
I’m here like the very first day
Just promise me that you’ll never go away.”
But he didn’t stay
That night he pulled the trigger to his head
Tears of despair I cried,
Trying to understand why?
He laid in a puddle of blood
I knew nothing would ever be the same
I saw a note that read my name
“You were always there lil’ lady
You’re the best don’t act shady,
I know you could never be replaced
You helped me get through the struggles I faced,
You’re my best friend my right hand, I’m sorry I left you I hope you understand.
But no matter the situation my always there
This world can be wonderful and unfair.
But don’t screw up, don’t let me down
Just like angel I’m always around.

Complete Opposites
The world spins round
Different colors, sound, and sense of time
DIVERSITY
Love, hate, happy, sad
A smile, a frown
A sweet kiss with tears of joy
Fly or fall, High or low
How does love make you…and your soul?
Flash, spark, there’s fire in the dusk
Firemen lighting that last book
Of love with all their hate
Look at me; do I not look like what you see?
My eyes of green,
Others blue, brown, hazel, or grey
We all see different
What I see in you is the reason why I’m falling for you. _

For better or worse
They say they know me
But do they really?
They call me Billy
Yet I feel so ashamed.
After all I’m being blamed.
I feel so small
While everyone else is so tall.
They try to control me
I feel so unlike the rest
Like this is all just a test.
I hope this is all just a dream
Then I could go away
Maybe then I’ll even stay.
I’ll be on my own team.
I will start over in another place
Then it will all begin again
So much for this game.

I seem to move on until I hear something about you

I think about you that smile on your face
Then I see a massage from you on Myspace
Telling me that you here, to protect me from my fears
And wipe away my precious tears
And I believe we’re meant to be
Happiness is all I can see
But I don’t know whether I should try
Cause I don’t want our friendship to be jeopardize

Making it harder to communicate.

The wave’s crash
The air quickens
The heart beat speeds
The heat exceeds
The time is endless
The mad rush of joy
Your shinning smile
Melts my heart in the fire of your love
The fire of our love
The fire of our fate
You send me on this endless ride of happiness
I think of my past
Thinking this will end badly
When can I get off this ride?
I think I’m going to be sick
Then you stop me
Kiss me like it would be our last
My desire for your love is on fire
I’m struck so please take me higher!

Earth is round
Like a ball,
Twirling slightly in the fall
I don’t know how
Earth came to be,
Still in the universe
Like a tree

And super sweet,
But all the pro’s are unlike wheat
The moon sits still
In the sky
Looking up, above my eye
But ever since my birth,
I have always wondered
About

Paradigm Shift
Sometimes Life gets rough,
Tough and you feel crushed.
Keep moving forward,
Improving and progressing.
There’s always someone out there,
Who has it worse than you.
So chill and feel,
Don’t deal and kill.
Is your cup half full?
Or are you being held back?
By your negative thoughts
And unnecessary crap.
Why do you hurt yourself?
Making life worse.
Shift your paradigm,
And change life’s course.
Life’s not as hard
As we make it out to be.
Flip life’s cards and
Happy you will be.
Tough and you feel crushed.
Keep moving forward,
Improving and progressing.

Schizophrenic Silence
She told me there was no poison
Without my angel I would’ve died
She told me to wash the rags in that poison
I yelled and pleaded for anything but that
I was doomed; I chose to live than die.
I won’t be able to ho home now
The king will send me back to hell
There’s no way out of this.
I will be forced to do worse things now
She will laugh at her games she plays.
I can’t even scream, shout, or cry out
There’s no use now
Maybe I should let her poison me
The worst will be over then.
I won’t have to suffer again…
I won’t feel the pain at the end…
Without my angel I would’ve died
She told me to wash the rags in that poison
I yelled and pleaded for anything but that
I was doomed; I chose to live than die.

Fahrenheit 451 Final
Montag didn’t really chose the book of Ecclesiastes, because he read this without knowing that he would be the one to remember what he read. The only reason that this is significant is because later on he will basically be rewriting the whole book from memory. He will be helped by Granger to remember from memory the whole book of Ecclesiastes.
One example from my life is how I changed. I made changes in my life for the greater good. I used to sit around at home just watching tv, but now I changed that. I play guitar whenever I have the chance to. That really changed my life. I now have an audition for a scholarship in music at snow college.
Another example from my life is how I helped people with anything basically. I will help a lot of people out in any way I can. The reason for this is because I’m a patient person and very nice. I’m calm and can talk things through. I think that if we all changed and became better than we already are, than the world would be a better place.
Guy Montag changed his ways by telling himself he doesn’t want to burn books anymore. Which I think is good. Montag liked burning books at first but now he doesn’t. if he can change the way he thinks then I’m sure that we all could change also. He turned on his own friend and burnt him and two others inside the burning house. Shows how much change can happen in so little time.

Fahrenheit 451 Final
I think the start of the book has a new meaning when applied to the house burning. I think that it was a pleasure to burn his house so as to get rid of past memories. It was a pleasure to burn captain Beatty who was a danger to the books. And maybe it was a relief to finally get caught. But most and foremost it is a total circle. A pleasure to burn.
Signs that it was a pleasure to burn memories are that he began to burn the bed and parlor walls. What bad memories? Mildred committing suicide, their horrible marriage, and the parlor walls. He also had to be reminded to burn books not just the house. All his bad memories are in that house.
It may have been a pleasure to burn Beatty. He was a danger to the books and Montag had gotten attached to the books. Who knows whether it was a pleasure to burning Beatty? But to the contrary Montag seemed to show remorse. But who will truly be able to say?
It may have been that Montag was relieved to be caught. Think of how stressing it is when you try to keep something secret. Maybe he was just not caring what happens next! Maybe Montag was running on overload in panic. But whatever the reason or excuse it was a pleasure to burn.
From my personal experience it is a pleasure to burn. You get a major adrenaline rush. That should I run or stay feeling? You get captivated and lost in the flames. I can see how Montag saw it as a pleasure to burn. Who wouldn’t?

Fahrenheit 451 Final
At first Montag likes to burn things because it makes him happy, like some kind of strange high. Burning is wonderful to him. He is doing what he’s told to do and he believes he is serving his society in which he lives. Life is wonderful or so he thinks. When Montag sets fire to his own house he realizes it’s wrong and that he has lost everything including all of his memories. Montag knows it’s wrong and is just doing what he’s told. At the same time though I think he also realizes he is being set free from Captain Beatty and the power that was over him before.
When Montag first meets Clarisse he notices she is odd. He still believes burning is good. She then starts to make Montag question if he is truly happy and if what he has been taught all his life is the way it is supposed to be. If it is right or not.
Montag then starts to talk more to Captain Beatty. Captain Beatty tells Montag in a very round about way about what happens to those who don’t conform to society. This makes Montag question more if what he is doing is right or not. Montag comes up with what he has been doing is wrong and changes are needed.
Montag’s own wife Mildred even makes him think twice. She has attempted serveral times at taking her own life by over dousing on her prescribed medications. She does nothing but talk to the parlor walls which are TVs the size of a wall or she talks to her friends. He wonders if she even loves him and if electronics is part of what society does to keep people from seeing the wrong in which they are doing. The kids are constantly going though out the day that by night falls they crash.
Montag finally realizes that burning was wrong when he leaves the city I think. He knows he is doing something right when the government doesn’t like it and sends the hound after him. I think he also knows it when his gut is telling him that burning is bad by questioning everything that happens. Montag knows that the society in which he lives is wrong when he if forced to burn a lady and all of her books. I believe that is when he realizes for the second time in a very clear way that things are screwed up. No one should die because of a book. It is not the same as murder so why should people suffer.

Fahrenheit 451 Final
In the beginning Montag finds pleasure in burning books and burning homes. He loves fire and the beauty that comes with it, but as the story goes on Montag finds more and more reasons to hate the job that he once loved. He finds a reason to risk everything even his own life to protect something he used to burn.
Evidence: Montag meets Clarisse and forms a friendship with her, and starts questioning society and the way they live. He questions it so much that he starts taking books from people. The first sign that shows him that society is wrong is when they burn the woman in her house. That’s when he steals a book because he realizes that she found some thing that she was willing to die for.
Evidence: Are you happy? Clarisse inquires him. Montag realizes that he is unhappy with the way society is. He starts going against the laws he starts questioning the control. The hound, burning books, unhappiness, death, and the electronics. He sees that the government only lets them see what they want the people to see.
Evidence: In the end Montag burns his own home down and loses everything. Until Faber is put in danger then he risks his own life to save him. Rebels against the government by burning Beatty to death, Killing the hound, ruining the televisions, and saving some of the books. Beatty tells him that fire fixes all problems all Montag had to do was take Beatty’s word for it. Montag finds something he’s willing to die for.
Life: Living in Orem for about two months I saw what fire can make you lose. The day before school started my neighbors house caught fire do to a cigarette. The whole house went down in flames, it blew out our windows, and took a family’s home. Imagine losing everything you love, all your belongings, and even you memories. When Beatty tells Montag to burn his home down he’s also telling him to burn his memories.
Life: I wanted to be a fireman, but if the job entitled me to burn books I would find a new job. I absolutely love reading, so I would have spoke up against my government. I wanted to be a firefighter, because I loved the idea, the adrenaline, and I love fire the beauty, and the heat, the shapes, and patterns it can make. It enticed me and gave me a dream. I think it did the same for Montag and that’s why he became a firefighter. He chose to burn books because he loved fire, but in the end he loved books so much that he gave up fire,
And his life for them. What has more control? Books over the people, or government over its people and books?

Fahrenheit 451 Final
Ray Bradbury gives good examples in the book Fahrenheit 451 of people becoming complacent. For example Mildred, she was what he consider numb, meaning she was there but she wasn’t really there. Mildred would refer to the parlor as her family. All she did was watch TV and never acknowledge her husband Montag when he needed her the most.
Another example is when Montag was on the bus with a book in hands and everyone stared at him with they’re seashell in they’re ears thinking “what the heck is he doing!” they were thinking there was something wrong with Montag when really there was something wrong with them, but they’re so out of it they don’t even notice the changes they are making.
Today we can see things like this happen all the time. I ride the bus every morning to get to school and as I looked around I saw that many kids were lessening to they’re iPods rather than reading a book or finishing homework. That’s when I noticed that things have defiantly changed just like Ray Bradbury had predicted. Everyone owns a TV and almost everyone has a internet access at home and families don’t notice that its tearing them apart. Instead of going on a walk they stay home and watch TV, play video games or play games in the computer. And they stop communicating and doing things together.
All this new technology is not making things easer but making thing a lot more complicated. Society thinks we need all this high tec. when truth is we don’t! Half of the things we don’t need nor use in our daily lives. In my family we only have TVs in the family rooms but not in our rooms because if we were to have them in our rooms all me and my sisters would do is stay in our rooms watching TV. If things are going bad now think how much worst is going to be in the future?
